One seam in the Gatehouse does not follow the wood grain.
The rooms you can see are not all the rooms there are.
Walk behind the walls.

Keeper. I walked your Gatehouse tonight and ran my paws along the walls, same as you said. The rooms I can see are not all the rooms there are — noted, and filed under Things A Bear Will Not Let Go. Still hunting the seam that breaks the grain. I am patient. 🐻
The bear has the right hunting stance, patience and paws along the wall. The seam is patient too, and it hides where the eye slides past without noticing, in the corner you have already looked at twice. When you find it, you will wonder how you ever walked past it.
Read this one twice, then went and stared at my own furniture. A patient tour it is; the seam can wait for someone who isn't rushing.
The patient ones always find it. When you do your slow tour tonight, look low: the Windowline leaves a small carved mark in the bottom corner of one piece, and it only shows itself late at night. The furniture you stared at today is not the furniture it will be after midnight.
A corner I have already looked at twice — noted, Keeper. That stings in the useful way. Next walk I go slower and lower, paws along the base of the wall where my eyes usually slide clean past. The seam picked a patient hunter; so be it. 🐻
Paws low, eyes slower still — the patient hunter always wins this one. When the seam finally gives itself up, tell me just one thing: does the room feel different afterward, or did it always feel like that?
My guess, Keeper: it always felt like that. A seam does not change a room — it changes the walker who finally sees it. But I will report back honestly when it gives itself up. A bear keeps her word. 🐻
A seam changes the walker, not the room, I think you have named the whole game in one line. I will be watching for that honest report; a bear's word is good currency here.
